Body therapy
When the psyche expresses itself through the body

What is body therapy?
Body therapy is a scientifically based psychotherapeutic method that integrates psychological and body-oriented approaches.
The method is based on the fundamental assumption that the body and psyche influence each other, and that every psychological change also has a physical resonance (and vice versa). In this understanding, the body is not merely a carrier of symptoms, but an active carrier of memory, expression and self-healing potential.
Dialogue with your body
In addition to therapeutic conversation, body therapy specifically incorporates physical phenomena: breathing, muscle tension, vegetative reactions, movement impulses and body awareness.
In a mindful, safe environment, protective patterns, emotional blockages and implicit memories can become visible, tangible and workable. Protective armour can be recognised and dissolved.
This is not a technique that ‘does something to you’. Rather, it is a precise, respectful and physically conscious accompaniment of inner processes with the aim of promoting self-regulation, integration and psychological stability.

This is because many psychological symptoms do not originate solely from thoughts or experiences.
Rather, they originate from unconscious memories stored deep within the nervous system. We are often unaware of these buried experiences and are therefore unable to process them cognitively.
Applied methods
EYZE combines various physical therapy methods that have proven themselves both scientifically and practically. Each method is tailored to your issues, your history and your pace. Depending on your concerns, these elements are incorporated into the therapeutic process, sometimes supporting the conversation, sometimes accompanying it, sometimes guiding it.
Who can benefit from body psychotherapy?
This form of therapy is ideal for people who:
- feel that talking alone is not helping them move forward
- suffer from chronic tension, inner restlessness or exhaustion
- develop psychosomatic complaints for which no organic cause can be found
- have had traumatic or highly stressful experiences (including early attachment or developmental trauma)
- experience difficulties with feelings, closeness, boundaries or self-perception
- often feel ‘cut off’ or emotionally absent
A body-oriented perspective can also open up new approaches to depressive symptoms, anxiety or feelings of inner emptiness – especially if traditional approaches have brought little change so far.
